When I was nine he was born. And I claimed him as my own. Cuddling him. Calming his colic temper. It seems like yesterday.
Two years ago I wrote about him here, (<<yes, double click) as he left the safe, and protected comforts of home to share something special with the world.
A message about Christ. Our Savior and Redeeemer.
And a story about the restoration of His gospel.
Malakai’s desire to serve the Lord touched all 11 of his siblings.
Because we KNEW it would be hard.
We KNEW he would struggle to keep up with his companions.
This past weekend he reported on his experience. And left us uplifted, and edified.
I cried the whole time. Because I remember holding him as a baby, and KNOWING that one day he would be an inspiration to ME.
Everyday since then he has. In the small and little things. And also the big. Like speaking about our Savior, because he KNOWS him.
In his own words he shared with the youth, soon to face the choice of serving the same mission, “If I can do this…. anyone can!”.
Nothing could ever be more true.
Thank you Malakai! For being a great example to us all.
