Anyday Photographer || Elder Malakai ‘Unga

When I was nine he was born. And I claimed him as my own. Cuddling him. Calming his colic temper. It seems like yesterday.

Two years ago I wrote about him here, (<<yes, double click) as he left the safe, and protected comforts of home to share something special with the world.

A message about Christ. Our Savior and Redeeemer.

And a story about the restoration of His gospel.

Malakai’s desire to serve the Lord touched all 11 of his siblings.

Because we KNEW it would be hard.

We KNEW he would struggle to keep up with his companions.

This past weekend he reported on his experience. And left us uplifted, and edified.

I cried the whole time. Because I remember holding him as a baby, and KNOWING that one day he would be an inspiration to ME.

Everyday since then he has. In the small and little things. And also the big. Like speaking about our Savior, because he KNOWS him.

In his own words he shared with the youth, soon to face the choice of serving the same mission, “If I can do this…. anyone can!”.

Nothing could ever be more true.

Thank you Malakai! For being a great example to us all.

So California Photographer: Everyday || Mr. John

Everyone needs a “Mr. John”.

Someone who knows the ins and outs of auto’s. Especially yours.

And tells you your getting a good deal on a purchase. That your sale price is fair. That you’re better off replacing the parts yourself. And that, unlike the fib told by that shop down the street, you have PLENTY of brake (like 80%) left, and the remedy for the squeek is simply blowing off dust with the air-compressor. And that adding .15 cents of BRAKE FLUID will help properly transfer pressure, through hydraulic lines,to the braking mechanism (and turn off that red brake light) … yeah, a huge difference from the overly-inflated quote of $489.63 for NEW brakes and ROTORS. Oh, and those rotors he’ll just turn himself.

I drove off and my bus feels BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW!!!

I LOVE YOU Mister John!!! For reminding me, ‘honesty is the best policy’.

That the Air Force is a great place to start off a career.

That I should live within my means… and be completely DEBT-FREE (house(s) and all) when I’m 45.

And to enjoy these sweet babies, because I just might outlive some of them. For John, it’s been two of three.

And to really LOooOOVE the LOVE in my life. Because I just might outlive him too.

THANK YOU JOHN… for being waaay more then the BEST go-to guy for my car.
